One of the most important developments regarding ongoing efforts to peel back layers of obfuscation regarding the politically discriminatory practices at the social media and tech behemoths is about to take place.
A group of conservative current and former employees of Google have filed suit against the company alleging they were targeted for their political beliefs, in violation of the Constitution’s equal protection clauses, Breitbart Tech reported Friday, and what’s more, the company cannot simply have it dismissed.
That means a discovery phase at some point if the suit progresses and the tech giant doesn’t settle — which would likely reveal a host of nefarious business practices exposing Google’s rampant Left-wing bias.
The suit, brought by Republican attorney Harmeet K. Dhillon on behalf of self-described conservative employees and former workers, says that the company practiced discrimination against non-progressives simply because of their rival political viewpoint. Also, the suit alleges the company was discriminatory against whites, Asians, and males on the basis of ethnicity and sex.
Breitbart Tech noted further:
The case will now move to a legal process known as discovery — meaning that Google must provide Dhillon and other attorneys working on the case access to its internal documents.
This is potentially a huge problem for the tech giant, as previous leaks of internal documents and video have repeatedly exposed the company’s extreme political bias.
The suit comes after Google’s firing of conservative engineer James Damore in 2017 following an internal memo he wrote that called for more diversity within the company. The memo was subsequently leaked to the media by Left-wing employees who were outraged by what Damore had to say.
After he began legal action, additional former Google employees joined in to form a class-action lawsuit. Since then, Damore has left the case and has begun an arbitration process with Google, though the original case will continue to proceed with the additional plaintiffs.
“This ruling is a significant step forward for all California workers, and sends notice to Silicon Valley that discrimination of any kind will not escape legal scrutiny,” Dhillon said in a statement. “It is illegal in California to discriminate against an employee for his or her legally protected characteristics, and we are excited to move forward with discovery into Google’s challenged employment practices that our clients allege discriminate on the basis of political orientation, race, and gender.”
It’s also illegal on the federal level and unconstitutional to boot.
Breitbart Tech noted that testimony the site obtained from Google employees in the past has exposed the tech giant’s blatant Left-wing political bias as well as its improper treatment of conservative and Right-leaning employees who dare to question progressive positions. One of them talked about “constant abuse, sneers, insults, and smears” being leveled by rival employees as well as a “learned helplessness because you know your abuses are supported by management.”
That makes the abuse ‘official,’ in practice if not in policy.
According to internal materials that have been released as part of Dhillon’s lawsuit, there is also widespread racism and sexism at Google. There is even tacit support for the far-Left violent group Antifa, despite the fact that Barack Obama’s own DHS and FBI once considered members of the group domestic terrorists during the 2016 presidential campaign cycle. (Related: Twitter bans the Health Ranger but approves accounts of Antifa terrorists who are doxxing ICE agents and their families.)
Members of the group have used social media to encourage violence against Republicans and conservative, pro-Trump groups and have showed up at events to attack Right-leaning speakers and organizations that are attempting to exercise their First Amendment rights.
Google may attempt to arbitrate a settlement with Dhillon’s clients before the discovery phase, but if not, we’re going to learn a lot about the internal workings of a social media behemoth accused of discriminating on the basis of political beliefs — just like Hitler Brown Shirts used to do.
